Registration is now open for the Indiana Arts Homecoming October 4 - 6, 2017 at the Indiana State Museum in downtown Indianapolis.
This inaugural statewide convening of Indiana's arts community will offer something for everyone including: artists, arts organizations, arts educators, and anyone who supports and advocates for the arts.
Sessions will offer opportunities to connect with peers and build new connections; gain new skills for engaging local communities and growing networks; and celebrate Hoosier arts innovation and impact occurring around the state.
Registration is $75 per person. Event parking is included with registration. To register online, click here.
Online registration will close two weeks prior to the event.
Indiana State Poet Laureate Shari Wagner will lead two poetry writing workshops at Limberlost State Historic Site.
The workshops are designed to help participants explore the beauty, history, and ecological importance of the Limberlost, as well as its connection to renown nature writer and novelist Gene Stratton-Porter.
The first workshop is Saturday, August 26 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. This workshop is designed for adults and high school age children. Cost is free, except for a guided hike fee of $4 for adults and $3 for students 17 and under. Space is very limited for this workshop.
The second workshop will be September 23 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and is a workshop designed for children grades 1 - 8. Each child must be accompanied by an adult. Cost is free, except for the guided hike fee of $4 for adults and $3 for children.
To register for either workshop, send Shari an email through the link on her website.
Both workshops will be in the Loblolly Marsh and Shelter. Visit the Poets in the Parks section of Shari's website for more information on this and other Poets in the Parks activities.
