Artist, musician, advocate Wug Laku was 63

As we go to press, the Indiana Arts Commission learned of the June 29 passing of artist, musician, and advocate John Douglas Barwick (aka Wug Laku) aged 63.

Link to Wug's obituary.

Wug did much for the arts community in Indiana, ArtsWORK Indiana, took part in previous Indiana Arts Commission strategic planning work, and was instrumental in helping launch many up and coming artists through his gallery.

Memorial contributions in Wug's honor can be made to the Arts Council of Indianapolis for a fund he desired established to assist artists. We will have more details on this in a future issue and through our social media channels.
