Greetings County/Local Agencies,
If you are transferring microforms to the State Archives, follow the guidelines and instructions below.
- "Microform" means any type of microfilm, microfiche, or Computer Output Microfiche (COM).
- Any microform transferred to the Archives must be a PERMANENT or PERMANENT and CRITICAL record series.
- Microform must meet the standards of 60 IAC 2 or, where applicable, Administrative Rule 6, Indiana Supreme Court.
1. Contact the State Archives at arc@iara.in.gov. Without prior approval, you will not be able to transfer them.
2. Once you receive approval, fill out the Microform Transmittal and Receipt. Follow instructions and guidelines carefully on the form.
3. Box the microfilm. Boxes must be acid-free. Use SF36074 to label the boxes. You will need to use Avery label #5164 for this state form label. If you need to purchase acid free boxes, try https://www.gaylord.com/
If you have any questions or concerns about microform transmittal, please let me know!
