Recently, I answered a question from a county prosecutor about whether or not they are to follow IARA's retention schedules or follow the retention guidance of the Indiana Prosecuting Attorneys Council (IPAC).

IARA does not have an office-specific retention schedule for county prosecutors. IPAC is in full control of what records are retained by prosecutors. So if you are a county prosecutor or deal with your county prosecutor frequently, please be aware that the primary authority on records retention for county prosecutors is the IPAC.
