Oswego Police Accepting Applications for Lateral Transfer Police Officer

The Oswego Police Department is seeking experienced/certified police officers to join our team as we look to establish a Lateral Transfer Police Officer Eligibility List (Register). All applicants shall already be Certified as an Illinois Law Enforcement Officer.
SALARY Salary range effective 5/1/21 is $76,274.43 to $80,469.53 with a top out of $101,406.69

QUALIFICATIONS / REQUIREMENTS THAT MUST BE MET BY WEDNESDAY, OCTOBER 20, 2021
State of Illinois Law Enforcement Certification from the Illinois Law Enforcement Training and Standards Board as a law enforcement officer in good standing (part-time certification as a law enforcement does not meet this requirement), and
Applicants shall be employed for a minimum of two consecutive years with current agency as a fulltime Sworn Municipal Officer, Illinois State Trooper or County Sheriff’s Deputy and must have completed their probationary period as of October 20, 2021, and
Currently in good standing with the police department in which the person serves or is laid-off due to budgetary restraints with that agency, and
Possess the knowledge, skills, abilities and level of experience required pursuant to the call for qualified lateral transfer applicants, and
Must be a United States Citizen and have a Valid Driver’s License by October 20, 2021, and
Has a Bachelor or Associate Degree in any field of study (OR 60 credit hours at an accredited college or university) OR those who qualify for a waiver due to active military service pursuant to statute [(65 ILCS 5/10-2.1-6) (from Ch. 24, par. 10-2.1-6)], by October 20, 2021, and
Must pass written examination, oral interview, in-depth background investigation, which includes a polygraph, and
After conditional job offer, must pass Medical (including drug screen, hearing and eye exam) and Psychological examinations

ATTEND MANDATORY ORIENTATION, WRITTEN EXAMINATION AND ORAL INTERVIEW, which will be held in Oswego on Monday, October 25, 2021 at 8:00AM. Applicants must have photo identification, which can be a State ID, Driver’s License or Passport
