Ukrainians who have arrived after February 24, 2022, are eligible for a range of government services through the Uniting for Ukraine humanitarian relief program.
There is a requirement for Ukrainian refugees to obtain tuberculosis (TB) screening and testing within 90 days of their arrival to the USA. In 2022, over 60 Ukrainian refugees were seen by the Lake County Health Department's (LCHD) Tuberculosis (TB) Clinic. About 10% of this population seen by our clinic tested positive for TB infection.
LCHD’s TB Clinic would like to partner with you by offering opportunities for new immigrants, particularly the vulnerable Ukrainian population to receive TB testing, vaccinations, and other health services. We accept referrals, and for a limited time, services are free at LCHD’s TB Clinic.
Please print the Uniting for Ukraine flyer and fact sheet and provide it to your patients who are Ukrainian refugees.
For more information, contact LCHD's TB Clinic at (847) 377-8700 or visit our webpage, Welcome Ukrainian Refugees.
