Mental illness affects approximately one in five adults and
adolescents every year but is rarely discussed. Due to stigma, people and
their loved ones suffer in silence.
Join me, County Board Member Sandy Hart (District 13), Warren
Township Youth and Family Services, and the League of Women Voters of Lake
County for a conversation about living with mental illness. Hear from
those directly affected, discuss challenges and resources with local
service providers, and find out what our community can do to
help. Our goal is to stamp out stigma, support caregivers, and let
people know they are not alone.
When: 10 a.m. to noon Saturday, April 7
Where: Warren-Newport Public Library, 224 O'Plaine Road, Gurnee

Lake
County Public Works has begun its semi-annual water hydrant flushing program.
After hydrant flushing, customers may notice a slight discoloration of the water.
Residents are urged not to do laundry during periods of flushing to avoid
clothes to be stained. This is not harmful and will dissipate after a short
time. It is recommended to run cold water for several minutes to clear your
pipes. View the schedule.
