Voting Options for March Election

WAUKEGAN, Illinois – County Clerk Carla N. Wyckoff reminds voters if busy schedules or travel plans make it difficult to vote on Election Day, there are other voting options to make sure your ballot is cast.

Voting by Mail requires each registered voter to complete a ballot request form for every election. Registered voters may visit LakeCountyClerk.info and use the “Vote by Mail” icon to complete an E-request form. Or, voters may download, print, and mail a completed form to the County Clerk. Ballot request forms are also available by providing your contact information in an email to VotingByMail@lakecountyil.gov or calling 847.377.2406. The official ballot is not permitted to be sent electronically, but is delivered via the U.S. Postal Service. The Clerk’s office must receive all requests by noon on Thursday, March 15. Voted ballots must bear a postmark no later than midnight on Election Day. Those choosing to vote by mail can use the “Track My Ballot” online feature to confirm their voted ballot has been received by the Clerk’s office.

Early Voting continues through Saturday, March 17 at all 15 early voting sites. Four of the sites, will be open Sunday and Monday, March 18 and 19. Voters may use any conveniently located early voting site regardless of where they live in Lake County. Choose a site that’s close to home, work, or along the way.

Election Day is Tuesday, March 20, and sites will be open from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m. On Election Day, voters must vote at their assigned neighborhood voting site.

For those Lake County residents who still need to register or update a current record, Grace Registration is available at any early and at voter’s assigned Election Day voting site. Applicants are required to meet all age, citizenship, and residency requirements; present valid identification; and vote at the time of registration.
