Pollwatcher Credentials and Training

WAUKEGAN, Illinois – Lake County Clerk Carla N. Wyckoff announced today that Pollwatcher Credentials are available to qualified political organizations needing credentials for the March 20th Primary Election.

All pollwatchers are required to have credentials issued by the Lake County Clerk or Illinois State Board of Elections in order to observe at any voting site. Pollwatchers may represent candidates, established political parties, qualified civic organizations and organized proponents, or opponents of ballot propositions.

The Clerk's office will offer training on the rights and limitations of pollwatchers on Thursday, March 1 at 10:00 a.m. in the 6th floor conference room at the Lake County Courthouse and Administrative Complex, 18 N. County St., Waukegan.

Requests for Pollwatcher Credentials and registration for the class can be made via email to elections@lakecountyil.gov or by calling 847.377.2314.

Candidates can visit LakeCandidatePower.info and download the Pollwatcher Guide, a helpful brochure explaining the qualifications and responsibilities of a pollwatcher.
