WAUKEGAN, Illinois –  If you want to vote in the March 20th General Primary Election, the County Clerk’s voter registration record must show your current name and address. Lake County registered voters can log onto LakeVoterPower.info to confirm their registration record is correct. If you need to update your record or register for the first time, voter registration is open now and is conveniently available online, in-person at many locations around the county, and by mail.

Online voter registration is offered through the Illinois State Board of Elections’ website (https://ova.elections.il.gov) until March 4. Voter must have an Illinois driver’s license or state identification card.

In-person registration with a deputy registrar is available until February 20 at most municipal, township, and library facilities. To find a convenient location, review the Official Places of Voter Registration brochure at LakeCountyClerk.info under the March 2018 primary icon. The County Clerk’s office, 18 N. County Street, Waukegan, offers voter registration weekdays from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. until February 20. Two forms of valid identification must be presented at the time of registration.

A printable mail-in registration form is available online at LakeCountyClerk.info after clicking on the March 2018 Primary icon. The completed form must be postmarked or delivered to the County Clerk’s office by February 20. The first time a mail-in registrant votes, it must be in person unless a legible copy of valid identification is included with the registration form.

Each applicant must be a United States citizen, 18 years of age by Election Day, and meet a 30-day Lake County residency requirement.

For more detailed registration information, contact the Clerk’s Voter Services Department by emailing VoterRegistration@lakecountyil.gov or calling 847.377.2410.
