2018
Summer Youth Employment Program
Applications for the 2018
Lake County Summer Youth Employee Program are being accepted now through Feb. 28.
The popular program, funded by the Lake County Board, will provide meaningful
work experiences for approximately 215 youth this summer.
Participants will work at various sites in Lake County,
including a mix of private employers and nonprofit organizations, local
municipalities and community-based organizations throughout Lake County. Youth
will be paid $8.25 per hour and will work approximately 25 hours per week.
Participants work in
various areas such as office support, camp counseling programs, and cleaning
and maintenance. The program will begin June 18, 2018 and will last
approximately six weeks.
Qualifications
To qualify for employment, youth must be:
- Age 14 to 18 by April 15, OR age 14 to 22 with an Individualized Education Plan (IEP)
- Attending middle school or high school
- Receiving free or reduced lunch, OR meet low income guidelines
Applying
Eligible youth can fill out an application online at the Job Center website. All applications must be submitted by Feb. 28.

Mailed applications must be postmarked no later than February
28 in order to be considered. We cannot be responsible for lost or
misdirected mail. Only one application per person will be accepted.
Applications will be randomly selected.
