Reporting Lake County’s April 4th Election Results

WAUKEGAN, Illinois - County Clerk Carla N. Wyckoff announced that after the April 4th polls close at 7 p.m. and all voters in line have cast their ballots, election judges will immediately begin to transmit precincts’ tallies from the county’s 122 Election Day voting sites to the clerk’s office using each ballot tabulators’ internal cellular modem.

Interested parties may then visit the Election Results web page at LakeCountyClerk.info to view the tallies for Election Day, already received mailed, grace voter registration, and early voted ballots. The initial view of the results page represents each race in a bar graph format. “Precincts Reporting” and “Voter Turnout” tabs offer web visitors a detailed view with numbers or a precinct color-coded map. Customizable on-screen sorting and downloadable reports will also be available. The “Precincts Reporting” feature will be displayed after all Election Day precinct results have been uploaded.

On election night, web visitors should click their browser’s refresh button after they enter the results page to ensure the most recent numbers are being viewed.

The first numbers uploaded to the website are the Election Day ballot totals. Results for early voting, grace period registration, and mailed ballots are added after all Election Day precincts have reported. Per statute, mailed and early voted ballots can only be tabulated in the clerk’s office by election judges on election night after 7 p.m. Results for the valid write-in candidates will be posted on the clerk’s website within seven days after the election.

Please remember as required by Illinois election law, results will be final 14 days post-election. This allows for any late-arriving voted by mail ballots and the processing of provisional ballots.
