Election 2017 Voting Options

WAUKEGAN, Illinois – Election Day is Tuesday, April 4, and voting sites will be open from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m. County Clerk Carla N. Wyckoff reminds voters if busy schedules or travel plans make it difficult to vote on Election Day, there are other voting options to make sure your ballot is cast.

Voting by Mail requires each voter to complete a ballot request form for every election. Registered voters may visit LakeCountyClerk.info and use the “Vote by Mail” icon to complete an E-request form. Or, voters may download, print, and mail a completed paper form to the County Clerk. Ballot request forms are also available by emailing VotingByMail@lakecountyil.gov or calling 847.377.2406. The official ballot is not permitted to be sent electronically, but is delivered via the U.S. Postal Service. The Clerk’s office must receive all requests by noon on Thursday, March 30. Voted ballots must bear a postmark no later than midnight on Election Day. Those choosing to vote by mail can use the “Track My Mail Ballot” online feature to confirm their voted ballot has been received by the Clerk’s office.

Early Voting continues through Saturday, April 1 at all 14 early voting sites. In four of the 14 sites, early voting extends through Monday, April 3. Voters may use a conveniently located voting site regardless of where they live in Lake County. Choose a site that’s close to home, work, or along the way. Some early voting sites offer extended evening and weekend hours.

For those Lake County residents who still need to register or update a current record, Grace Registration is available at any early voting site. On Election Day, applicants must go to their assigned voting site. Voter must meet all age, citizenship, and residency requirements; present valid identification; and vote at the time of registration.

Visit LakeCountyClerk.info and click on the “April 4 Consolidated” icon to confirm your registration status, see a personalized sample ballot, voting site hours and locations, or track your voted mailed ballot.
