A Paratransit Market Study is now
underway in Lake County to evaluate transportation options for seniors, people
with disabilities, and the general public. We are looking for people to participate
in an upcoming focus group or provide feedback online.

temporary exhibits created by you to share objects and stories. This Pop-Up
Museum's theme is Shelf Indulgence, centered around your favorite books.
Bring a treasured book, such as the one you have read a thousand times, a
cookbook from your grandmother, or a children's book with the best
illustrations. The program is free, open to all ages, and no registration is

More than 20 organizations, including members of
the County Board and more than 200 leaders from hospital/health systems,
schools and more came together to address the question, “How can we make Lake
County one of the healthiest places to live, work and play” at the Lake County
Together Summit. The summit was focused on learning and discussing how to
collectively improve the health and quality of life of Lake County residents. Learn more about the summit.

Since
2011, the Live Well Lake County (LWLC) steering committee, made up of
representatives from community-based organizations, government agencies, health
care systems, and academic institutions, has been working collaboratively to improve
the health and well-being of county residents. Six teams, working in unison
with the Lake County Health Department, are addressing identified community
health issues such as keeping active by walking, healthy eating, diabetes
prevention and management, tobacco prevention and cessation, health literacy
and behavioral health. Learn more

The Nicasa Bridge House in Waukegan is a
community-based residence for men and women recovering from dependence on drugs
or alcohol. Recently, the facility underwent renovations to make it ADA
accessible to broaden the reach of residents who could utilize the

Join Lake Zurich free Business and Community Showcase Visit over 80 local businesses and organizations as well as enjoy food, giveaways and more at the Lake Zurich Area Chamber of Commerce's Business and Community Showcase. The event will run from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. March 11 at the Lake Zurich High School Fieldhouse. Admission and parking are free.
And, don't forget to show off your best pieces of
artwork at the event's Art Show. Artists from elementary school

Save date for Barrington Family Expo The Barrington
Family Expo, a community and business expo co-hosted by the Barrington Area
Chamber of Commerce and Barrington 220 Fine Arts Department will take place from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. April 9 at Barrington High School, 616 W. Main St. The free public event will feature booths
showcasing local resources, a Fun Arts Fair, hands-on art activities for
kids, local youth performances, food, giveaways and more.
Habitat restoration workday planned Saturday in Lake Zurich Join the rewarding work of habitat restoration at the next habitat workday from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday, Feb. 25 at Kuechmann Park in Lake Zurich. understand and serve the needs of the aging population and its caregivers, the

Help monitor bluebird boxes in Barrington Bluebirds have already
arrived in Barrington and are checking out the 36 new bluebird boxes. People are needed to help monitor the boxes between March and June. To learn more about this opportunity, attend an orientation meeting at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 23 at Citizens for Conservation headquarters, 459 W. Highway 22, Barrington.
