The Lake County Division of Transportation is continuously working to improve our transportation system. Read the stories below to learn more about the resurfacing work planned on Aptakisic and Buffalo Grove roads as well as their efforts to get your feedback as they evaluate transportation options for senior citizens, those with disabilities and the general public.
The Illinois Department of Transportation also wants your input as it develops its Long Range Transportation Plan. This plan will identify policies to provide Illinois residents and businesses with innovative, sustainable solutions that support local goals and grow the economy. Read the story below to learn how you can provide your feedback.
The Lake County Division of Transportation (LCDOT) will be
resurfacing Aptakisic Road from Buffalo Grove Road to Illinois Route 21, and
Buffalo Grove Road, from Lake Cook Road to Illinois Route 83. These resurfacing
improvements have been identified as part of the County’s pavement management
system and are included in the 2017 program. At the February Lake County Board
meeting, we approved an appropriation of $3,870,000 of Motor Fuel Tax funds for
these resurfacing projects. I will provide further information once we award a
contract for this work and have a schedule in place.
A Paratransit Market Study is now
underway in Lake County to evaluate transportation options for seniors, people
with disabilities, and the general public. We are looking for people to participate
in an upcoming focus group or provide feedback online.
Are you able to get to and from medical
appointments, places of employment and other daily activities? We want to hear
about your experiences, identify gaps in service, understand your needs, and
hear your recommendations for improvements. Take the online survey or sign up for the focus group.
