Bitter Cold Temperatures & Winter Weather Expected This Week

Lake County will be impacted by bitter cold temperatures over the next several days. The forecast includes single digit day-time temperatures followed by below zero night-time temperatures beginning Wednesday, Dec. 14 through at least Friday, Dec. 16.

What to Expect:

  1. Dangerous Wind Chills (Wednesday night) - Possible impacts from frostbite and hypothermia.
  2. Freezing Roads (throughout this week) - Isolated/dangerous travel conditions
  3. Snow / Wintry Precipitation (Friday and Saturday). Low visibility and dangerous travel conditions.

It's recommended that you allow extra time for travel Friday morning. Motorists should make sure their vehicles are appropriately prepared for winter weather, including keeping their fuel tank full.

You are also encouraged to have emergency supplies in your vehicle and a winter emergency kit at home such as:

  • blankets
  • food
  • fully-charged cell phone
  • flashlight with extra batteries
  • And more
