Check your Voter Registration Today

WAUKEGAN, Illinois – For the March primary, almost 4,440 Lake County residents waited until Election Day to register. While it is a luxury for the voters, same day registration created long lines at some of the voting sites.  You don’t have to stand in line on November 8. Log onto LakeVoterPower.info today and confirm you are registered with your current name and address. If you need to update your record or register for the first time, voter registration is open now and is conveniently available online, in-person at many locations around the county, or by mail.

Online voter registration is offered through the Illinois State Board of Elections website (https://ova.elections.il.gov) until October 23.

In-person registration with a deputy registrar is available until October 11 at most municipal, township, and library facilities. To find a convenient location, review the Official Places of Voter Registration brochure at LakeCountyClerk.info and click on “November 8 Election” icon.

All 14 early voting sites will offer registration from Oct. 24 to Nov. 7. Visit LakeCountyClerk.info and click on the “November 8 Election” icon to see the hours and dates for each location. Some early voting sites are open on weekends and evenings. You can use any early voting site, regardless of where you live.

The County Clerk's Office, 18 N. County St., Room 101, Waukegan currently offers registration from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday through October 21.

A printable mail-in registration form is available under the “November 8 Election” icon at LakeCountyClerk.info. The completed form must be received by the Clerk’s office by October 11.

Applicants must be a United States citizen, 18 years of age by the date of the November 8th election, and meet a 30-day Lake County residency requirement. Two forms of valid identification must be presented at the time of registration. At least one of the forms must show current name and address.
