Voting Options for March Election

WAUKEGAN, Illinois – County Clerk Carla N. Wyckoff reminds Lake County registered voters whose busy schedules or travel plans may prevent them from voting on Election Day that they have options to select a voting time and place that’s convenient.

Election Day is Tuesday, March 15 and voting sites will be open from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Early voting continues through Saturday, March 12 at 10 of the early voting sites and extends through Monday, March 14 at 4 other early voting sites throughout the county. Recent changes in Illinois election law now allow voters to use any of the early voting sites regardless of where they live in Lake County. Choose a site that’s close to home, work, or along the way. Some early voting sites offer extended evening and weekend hours. Check LakeCountyClerk.info for locations, days, and available hours.

Voting by Mail laws require a voter to complete an application form for each election. Registered voters may visit LakeVoterPower.info and use the “Request a Ballot by Mail” link to complete an E-request form. Or, voters may download, print, and mail a completed form to the County Clerk. Ballot request forms are also available by emailing VotingByMail@lakecountyil.gov or calling 847.377.2406. The official ballot is not permitted to be sent electronically, but is delivered via the U.S. Postal Service. The last day to request a ballot by mail is Thursday, March 10. Voted ballots must be returned to the Clerk’s office with a postmark no later than midnight on Election Day.

Grace Registration is available at any early and voter's assigned Election Day voting site. Voter must meet all age, citizenship, and residency requirements; present valid identification; and vote at the time of registration.

Visit LakeVoterPower.info to confirm your registration status, see your sample ballot, and get photos and driving directions for a convenient early or assigned Election Day voting site. Those choosing to vote by mail can use the “Track My Ballot” option to confirm their voted ballot has been received by the Clerk’s office.
