Evanston "Streets Alive!" Comes to Main Street this Sunday, September 7

Streets Alive!

This Sun., Sept. 7, from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m., community members are invited to enjoy a mile of food, music, activities and open space on Main St. at the Evanston "Streets Alive!" festival.

Presented by the City of Evanston and environmental nonprofit Citizens' Greener Evanston, "Streets Alive!" will feature a variety of activities for all ages, including talent shows, limbo, hoola-hooping, sidewalk chalk art, basketball challenge games, badminton, a giant chess board, an imagination playground, local performing artists, food trucks and much more.

Please note: Beginning at 11 a.m., Main St., from Hinman Ave. to Dodge Ave., and Custer Ave., from Washington St. to Main St., will be closed to motor vehicles. Temporary "No Parking" restrictions will be in effect beginning at 10 a.m. Traffic and parking will return to normal following the event clean-up.
