Now that the City Council is working to find a new partner to help operate the Evanston Animal Shelter, the City will organize volunteer efforts for the time being.
Since
its founding in 1987, hundreds of dedicated C.A.R.E. volunteers have
been responsible for the adoption of thousands of dogs and cats. Their work has been outstanding and impactful in our
community, as they worked hard to help pair loving families with dogs and cats in need of caring homes.
If you're interested in joining the dedicated team of volunteers or continuing your volunteer efforts at the shelter, please visit volunteerevanston.org.

The City of Evanston and The Kindness Connection would like to thank everyone who participated in making Give Back Evanston a success! Your donations contributed to several boxes of items for the YWCA Evanston/North Shore and Connections for the Homeless.
To top it all off, 200 volunteers across all age groups donated their time to create items such as welcome kits, magnets, pillows and more for Evanston-based organizations.
We would like to give a special THANK YOU to the City's Community Development Division for donating $100 worth of items to the event.
Additionally, a special THANK YOU is in order for Fleetwood-Jourdain Community Center's Middle School Council for hosting a popcorn sale and using their profit of $32.80 to purchase and donate items (see photo below).

Join
the community in this year's Earth Day clean up on April 26! We'll be working
at sites all over the city to pick up trash in honor of Earth Day. After the
long, cold winter we have all experienced, there is an abundance of litter in
our City parks. We'll be collecting all the trash and recycling everything we
can get our hands on. Trash bags,
recycling bags and gloves will be provided for all participants.
The City will provide a light
lunch for all volunteers. Additionally, volunteers are invited to attend a
tree planting ceremony and Earth Day/Arbor Day Celebration at
Fleetwood-Jourdain Community Center, 1655 Foster St., starting at 11:30 a.m.
This event is open to all
ages. All volunteers under the age of 16 will need to have an adult chaperone.

Day Clean Up, please click here.
