New Ward Meeting Location - Thursday, February 27
I would like to remind everyone that Ald. Delores Holmes and I will join forces for a combined 5th and 7th Ward meeting on Thursday, February 27 from 7 to 8:30 pm.
Postcards announcing the meeting were sent to residents prior to the recent change in location. The meeting will now be held at Louis Hall in Room 206, located at 1877 Campus Drive on the Northwestern University campus. I apologize for the confusion. Free parking will still be available at the Lakeside Parking Structure at the south end of campus.
This meeting will center around Evanston Myth-Busting with a panel of experts, including Assistant City Manager Martin Lyons, Evanston History Center Archivist Lori Osborne, Northwestern University Archivist Kevin Leonard, Founder of Shorefront Legacy Center Dino Robinson, Director of Public Works Suzette Robinson and Evanston Police Officer Scott Sengenberger, who serves on our police Problem-Solving Team, to help answer your questions. Again, I would like to thank Kevin Harris, VP for External Relations for Associated Student Government, for assisting with the logistics.
Some Evanston mythology we hope to confirm or dispel with our panel of legal and historical experts: Are bowling alleys illegal? Did the City sell property to the University for its new visitor center? Do you violate the City Code when you spit on a sidewalk? Is Northwestern University a party school?
If you can't attend, join the conversation live on Twitter by following @CityofEvanston. Be sure to use #EtownMyths to track all of the tweets coming out of our meeting.
