City of Evanston, Illinois sent this bulletin at 01/31/2014 04:46 PM CST
Snow Parking Ban Will Be In Effect Sat., Feb. 1 & Snow Emergency Declared for Feb. 2 and 3
Due to the large snowfall set to occur in Evanston overnight, a Snow Route Parking Ban has been declared for Sat., Feb. 1, beginning at 11 p.m. and ending at 6 a.m. on Sun., Feb. 2. Also, a Snow Emergency will be in effect between 8 a.m. and 6 p.m. on Sun., Feb. 2 and Mon., Feb. 3.
SNOW ROUTE PARKING BAN
Community members are requested to park according to the red, white and blue signs on the streets on Sat., Feb. 1 to allow the City to effectively clear the snow. Emergency sirens will sound at 8:15 p.m. to remind community members to move their cars.
During the Snow Route Parking Ban, main thoroughfares in Evanston designated as Snow Routes (map here>>>) will be cleared first, and parking is illegal on these streets between 11 p.m. on Sat., Feb. 1 through 6 a.m., Sun., Feb. 2.
SNOW EMERGENCY
Residents are required to park on the odd-numbered side of the streets on Sun., Feb. 2 and on the even-numbered side of the streets on Mon., Feb. 3. Most streets with parking on one side only now have permanent “ODD date” or “EVEN date” signs. This allows them to be plowed during snow emergencies or when voluntary compliance is requested.
