EPL sets kids on the path to a brighter future
|
|
Did you know that summer reading:
- Improves reading skills
- Motivates continued reading
- Increases self-confidence
- Increases overall reading enjoyment
|
And this leads to important things:
- Lifelong love of reading
- Greater success in school
- A path to a brighter future
|
During the summer, learning loss worsens achievement gaps, increasing inequity in our community. Together with community partners, we are setting youth on the path to a brighter and more equitable future with a robust summer program. In fact, this summer EPL staff will spend over 1,000 hours outside the Library walls and distribute more than 3,000 free books. You can see the entire summer program and schedule here.
Support this special summer campaign!
These additional resources, staff time, and materials cost money. As we join the Evanston community's goals to create an equitable future for our children, we need your financial support.
For this special summer campaign, our goal is to raise $50,000. Join us as we provide free books and STEM activities, attend park-based events, and create connections to all of the Library's resources.
Will you consider giving a gift now to support our summer engagement and reading efforts, to put more books and activities in the hands of Evanston's youth?

Together, we are the Library.
The Library is for everyone! Check out the summer program and event schedule to find something that interests you. We look forward to seeing you this summer!
You can also partner in our mission by volunteering your time, sharing a post on Facebook, Instagram, or Twitter, or even stopping by one of our two locations.
For almost 150 years, the Library has provided educational, culturally-rich resources for all residents, helped children prepare for school through the joys of reading and learning, celebrated Evanston’s diversity, and helped residents find information they seek. The Library is more than a building of books; it is a place to meet, connect, learn and explore. To learn more, visit www.epl.org.
