Do you enjoy or want to learn coding? Are you a spoken word artist, musician, or composer? Come share your talent! We'd love to hear it. It doesn't matter what level you are at.
This is a 2 part event. The first part is learning to code music in TunePad (It's like Garage Band). The second part is having your coded creations played back to you by a live band and or performing your own original content in the open mic section of the event.
Grades 6-12. Registration required.

Mola Craft Kit: Mola is a textile folk art form from Panama. Pick up a kit containing a template for your animal of choice, construction paper, yarn, pipe cleaners, glue, and directions for your Mola craft! Come to either Robert Crown or the Main Library to pick up a kit in celebration of Hispanic Heritage Month! Kit is best suited for kids ages 6 to 12.
"Celebrating Mi Gente": Check out our Mi Gente Display at the Robert Crown Branch Library to learn amazing facts about Hispanics in the U.S. Visit anytime the library is open during Hispanic Heritage Month 9/15-10/15.

Dungeons & Dragons to return to in-person games!!
Saturday, October 16, 1 - 3:30 pm. Register.
Finally, we are back! Join us for Autumn in-person sessions of Dungeons and Dragons! Character building will be for the first hour, from 12-1pm. Gameplay will be from 1-3:30pm.
These are beginner-friendly sessions! If you're new to D&D, please join us! If you're not new, please come all the same! We are so excited to see everyone, and we've missed you!
If you already have a 5th edition level one character, feel free to bring it to the game! Come to the character building sessions if you'd like to make a new one or change up the one you have. If you've never played D&D before, definitely come to the character building hour!
New DM's are welcome! Let us know if you want to be a DM!

The Code It! Challenge
Design & Program a Video Game
Start Date: Saturday, October 16. Register.
Code It! is an arcade game design challenge open to all D65 students and Evanston residents in grades 5th – 8th. The rules are simple: design a video game using MakeCode Arcade, include at least 10 core game elements, and submit it by December 5th.
You can complete this challenge in an afternoon, but the more game elements you include and the more you participate the better your chances of winning the best prizes. Visit the Code It! Challenge website for more info.
