Attention all 6th-12th graders, The Loft staff is coming to a park near you! You'll get a taste of our programming from building rockets, to fixing bikes, DIY crafts, games and mixing beats. Plus, you can grab a free book, sign up for Summer Reading and pick up a STEM kit (while supplies last and weather permitting). Also grab your free beach passes! We miss you! Come by and hangout!

Love anime and manga?! Join us for Anime Club: Outside Edition at the Robert Crown Branch Library Reading Garden, and geek out with your fellow anime enthusiasts. Each Anime Club session will feature a variety of stations with anime themed activities. Grades 6-12.
July Activities:
- Anime music
- Delicious Japanese snacks (all snacks will be individually sealed. Hand sanitizer will also be available. Contact us in advance for any food allergy accommodations)
- Block printing - carve an image into a block and use special ink to print it on paper
- Make buttons and magnets from manga/comics
- Green Screen Photo Booth - Take a photo with your favorite anime character and print it out with our photo printer.
- Drawing Station - Use our fancy studio brush markers and create anime art
SewFly Collabs with "We Are Water"
Wednesday, July 14, 6 pm. Register.
Sewing Night will be a combination of learning embroidery, sewing machine basics, basic hand stitching, and DIY t-shirt creations. Additionally, join the "We are Water" Project in creating visual art to explore our relationship with and concerns about water. Grades 6-12th. Registration Required.

The Film It! Challenge
Film It! is a citywide mini-movie challenge and is open to all D65 students and Evanston residents entering grades 5 – 8 in the Fall 2021 school year. The rules are simple – create a short movie that is at least two minutes long and includes the five core filmmaking elements. Make it something fun, interesting, about you, or whatever! Interview your grandparent, make a stop-motion video with objects, create a tik-tok style dance, or a how-to tutorial on something you want to show others. It’s up to you! Check it out!
Minecraft Club
Come play on our private creative and survival servers. Each month we will feature theme building in creative mode and cooperative challenges in survival mode. Registration Required. Grades 6-8.
