For Trans Day of Visibility, here are stories of Black Trans Joy.
1. The Year We Thought About Love: Behind the Scenes of Queer Youth Theatre (kanopy): This heartfelt documentary follows the personal and theatrical lives of a queer youth theatre troupe as they perform for local high schools about queer love and gender.
2. Pet by Akwaeke Emezi (print book, Audio CD, eBook, eAudio): Jam, her best friend Redemption, and otherworldly "Pet," bravely seek to uncover truth amidst a speculative fiction world steeped in denial.
3. Passing: Profiling the Lives of Young Transmen of Color (kanopy): This twenty-minute vignette follows three black transmen who share community and celebration when meeting in person for the first time.

A Little Comfort: Sew Your Own Tiny Pillow: Pillows can offer rest, comfort, rejuvenation as well as a place to scream, cry, and dream. "A Little Comfort" tiny pillows project encourages participants to look inside themselves and use the act of creation for healing and self-comfort. Take-home kits to create your own tiny pillow from artist Karen Jones are available at the 3rd-floor desk of the Main Library while supplies last. Learn more.
