Early Speech and Literacy Programs
Research shows that the conversations you have with your young children are very important for their brain development. We're partnering with the District 65 Family Center to launch LENA Start: 10 weeks of parent/caregiver sessions that encourage back-and-forth talking with your children ages 0-3. The program uses a device that records and analyzes information about the conversations between you and your child in addition to providing feedback. Take the opportunity to learn strategies for supporting and building your child's brain. Sign up for an orientation to learn more:
Wednesday, January 6, 2 pm; Register, OR
Saturday, January 9, 10 am; Register, OR
Thursday, January 14, 8 pm; Register, OR
Tuesday, January 19, 10 am; Register.
Also, sign up for twice weekly Talk Read Sing text messages/emails that share ideas and tips for early literacy skill building for kids 0-3. Text COE TRS1 to 468311 for English language texts or COE TRS2 to 468311 for Spanish language texts.
