On December 31, at 7 pm, watch "Am I the Only One Here?"—a play developed through a collaborative partnership between Fleetwood-Jourdain Theater, Mudlark Theater, and Piven Theatre Workshop. The teen ensemble explores the intersections and real-life impacts of identity, the COVID-19 pandemic, and the socio-political events of 2020 on today's youth. Register for the livestream.
We are thrilled to host Gabriel Bump on January 14 at noon to discuss his novel Everywhere You Don't Belong (print book, eBook & audiobook) for our first Midwest Address Author Series of 2021. A coming-of-age story about a young Black man trying to find his place in the world growing up in Chicago’s South Side, this novel was selected as one of The New York Times 100 Notable Books of 2020. Gabriel Bump is also featured in USA Today's 100 Black novelists and fiction writers you should read. Please register.
Evanston Care Network. This online hub provides those in need with a wide variety of social assistance connections and resources. More than 5700 individuals have used the service since its inception in May, conducting almost 9000 different searches for resources like food, housing, and childcare. Those seeking resources can visit evanstoncarenetwork.org or call 311 for assistance. English and Spanish-speaking representatives are available.
Seeking employment? Go to epl.org/jobseekers for a variety of resources, events, and job training programs.
Food is available for those in need: The City of Evanston has put together a list of food resources and mobile, pop-up food pantries.

Seven Days of Kwanzaa Virtual Celebration: Fleetwood-Jourdain Theater presents the City of Evanston's annual Kwanzaa celebration online, starting Saturday, December 26 at 11 am with the unveiling of a newly commissioned Kwanzaa display in Fountain Square. You can watch it live on Fleetwood-Jourdain's Youtube Channel and Facebook. More virtual presentations will continue until January 1 from 12 - 1 pm each day. Read more.
