On the Day of the Dead (el Día de los Muertos), families welcome the souls of deceased relatives for a joyous reunion. This Mexican holiday's origins go back 3000 years in North America!
Celebrate with us by picking up an ofrenda (remembrance altar) craft and STEM kit at the Main Library Children's Room or the Robert Crown Branch Library. With the kit and a regular shoe box from home, make your own ofrenda with a light up circuit! This video in English or in Spanish can help!
Cempasuchil /Marigold Craft! These colorful flowers are said to guide the spirits of your ancestors to your ofrenda. Learn how to make handmade marigolds using written or video directions.
