New small business resources available
The Cook County COVID-19 Recovery Small Business Assistance program provides resources for small businesses impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic.
The following resources are available through this program:

Cook County Recovery Grants - Small businesses in suburban Cook County impacted by COVID-19 can apply for a $10,000 recovery grant. Apply by October 6 at 5 p.m.

Business Advising Program - Helps businesses address the unique needs of their business, including acquiring new capital and customers, understanding financial, change and risk management, adjusting business models, and operating under new safety regulations.

Webinars - Interactive sessions to get business owners thinking about how to manage their business during the pandemic. Join the 6-week series.

Business Interruption Grant (BIG) webinars
The second round of the Business Interruption Grants (BIG) Program is now open, offering $220 million in financial assistance for small businesses that were hit hard by the pandemic.
DCEO will be hosting a series of webinars regarding the BIG Program. Register for any of the webinars by using the links below:
The BIG program is open to all eligible businesses (for profit and nonprofit) with $20 million or less in annual revenue in 2019 and who experienced losses due to COVID-19. The grant size will be equivalent to two months of expenses. Find additional information on the BIG program and how to apply here.
Koi highlighted as a Chicago staple
Koi Fine Asian Cuisine & Lounge, located at 624 Davis St., was recently featured in an article by Urban Matter highlighting some of their amazing dishes and the great dining experience they offer. Art Makers Outpost offers new fall programming
Art Makers Outpost new fall offerings are now open for registration! The fall class line starts Thurs., October 1 and includes one class in Spanish. Sessions are one month in length and registration for both October and November are now open. Half day and no school day programming, as well as winter break camp and Saturday specialty classes, are also available. Learn more about all sessions on their website.

GROW Entrepreneurial Training Program
Hit the ground running with GROW, an entrepreneurial training program that will help you develop a comprehensive and implementable plan that's right for your business. Over this four week online session, you’ll learn the basics of how to develop your business idea, write your business plan and set up your business.
Sessions will take place Wednesdays from 6 to 8 p.m. October 7, 14, 21, 28 in English and Thursdays from 6 to 8 p.m. October 8, 15, 22, 29 in Spanish. Visit their website for more information.
