YWCA Crowded Closet Reopens September 12
YWCA Crowded Closet, a women’s consignment boutique, will reopen this Sat., September 12 at 10 a.m. in a newly renovated space located at 820 Dempster St. Stop by to find some great deals on summer clothes, accessories, and shoes!
YWCA Evanston/North Shore assumed ownership of the Crowded Closet August 1. They are a non-profit social justice organization that has been working in the Evanston North Shore communities for over 70 years. 100% of profits from Crowded Closet go to support YWCA’s domestic violence and economic advancement programs, helping hundreds of women and children throughout northeastern Cook County.

Little Beans Cafe featured on WGN
Little Beans Cafe, located at 430 Asbury Ave., was recently featured on WGN for their resilience during these challenging times and providing families with a nice change of scenery. In addition to reservation-based family play, they are now offering a virtual learning space for kids. Bookends & Beginnings is expanding!
Exciting news! Bookends & Beginnings recently announced its expansion plans for a new retail storefront at 1716 Sherman Ave. The new location, just a short walk away from their Bookman's Alley location, will primarily house bestsellers, new releases, and non-book merchandise and provide street visibility. COVID-19 Micro-Enterprise Grant applications open through September 15
Applications for the COVID-19 Micro-Enterprise Grant are open now through Tues., September 15. The grant will provide up to $2,500 in financial assistance to income-eligible Evanston micro businesses.
