This is the 16th year that peregrine falcons have nested at EPL. Mary Hennen (pictured), Director of the Chicago Peregrine Program at The Field Museum, will band falcons hatched at EPL in May. Watch as the young falcons are taken from the nest and brought inside for banding. Don't worry -- she puts them back! In a couple of weeks, off they fly. All welcome. Ask a Master Gardener. Illinois Extension Master Gardeners will be on hand to answer gardening-related questions in the lobby of the Main Library the fourth Saturday of the month from May-September. Master Gardeners have completed a 12-week training course on a variety of gardening topics and have gained experience through active volunteering for the University of Illinois Extension.
