Standing Rock: Photographs of an Indigenous Movement. American Indian journalist, Levi Rickert, whose photos will be on display at the Library through December, talks about his photos taken at Standing Rock. There, the resistance to stop the Dakota Access oil pipeline epitomized the struggle for indigenous water rights and tribal sovereignty. EPL Children’s Librarians, Betsy Bird and Brian Wilson reveal 101 Great Children's Books of the Year in a fun and lively presentation for all adults interested in quality books and reading for children. They will be joined by special guest Cozbi A.Cabrera, the illustrator of several books for children, including My Hair is a Garden. Book Discussion Groups. EPL offers a wide range of book discussion groups including: History, Read-Ability Book Group, Keepinitreal Non-Fiction, Science Fiction and Fantasy, Graphic Novels, and more. 

In December, two book discussions will feature holiday reading and gift ideas: one will be held at the Chicago Ave./Main St. Branch and the other at the North Branch
