2018 Mayor Holiday Card Contest


Young Evanston artists are invited to submit their designs for Mayor Hagerty's holiday card! The contest is open to all Evanston residents of K-12 school age. The deadline to submit designs is Sun., Oct. 21 at 8 p.m.

Evanston Fire Department Open House Sunday

Fire Prevention Week Open House


As part of National Fire Prevention Week, the Evanston Fire Department will host an open house this Sun., Oct. 7, 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., at Fire Station 2, located at 702 Madison St. The event will include rescue and safety demonstrations, a children's firefighter challenge course, equipment displays, refreshments and more.

Fall Bulk Trash Pick-ups Begin this Friday

Bulk trash pickup


Fall bulk trash collection will take place this Fri., Oct. 5 for residents whose normal refuse collection day is Tuesday. Pick-ups continue Fridays through October 26. View the complete schedule and guidelines.

Hispanic Heritage Month ¡Fiesta! October 14

Celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month with Latinx businesses! The ¡Fiesta! celebration will take place Sun., Oct. 14, 1 p.m. to 4 p.m., at the Levy Center, and will include music, vendors, entertainment, a Selena contest, and more. Food will be available for purchase. This event is free and open to all. Registration is requested.
