The Downtown Evanston Farmers' Market season has begun! Up to 58 vendors will sell fresh produce, baked goods, meat, cheese, flowers and more at the market every Saturday throughNovember 3, from7:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.The market is located at University Place and Oak Avenue. The pane-style workshop will focus on resources available to community organizations with an emphasis on cultural programming and funding available through private foundations. Panelists will includeForefront,National Endowment for the Humanities (NEH) (invited),National Endowment for the Arts (NEA), Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), and Lake County Community Foundation.
Evanston Arts Council Calls for 'Pop-Up' Temporary Art by May 15
The Evanston Arts Council is issuing a call for artists to submit applications for “pop-up” temporary displays of artwork or performances of public art throughout Evanston during summer 2018. The Arts Council will provide three grants of up to $1,000 each for projects that must take place betweenJune 10 and August 31, 2018.
In visual arts, preference may be given to work that has already been completed. Conceptual proposals will be considered if the artwork can be completed within the presented timeline, and applications are submitted with clear and detailed specifications and renderings.
Submissions must be emailed with attachments tojlasik@cityofevanston.orgbyMay 15, 2018. Applicants will be notified byJune 1, 2018.

Discounted Beach Tokens Through June 8
The beach season is set to begin onSat., May 26!A beach token, also known as a season pass, is valid from the time of purchase through Labor Day, Mon., Sept. 3. Tokens will be sold at a discounted rate of $26 for Evanston and Skokie residents and $42 for nonresidents through Fri., June 8. On Sat., June 9, the price for a beach token will increase to $34 for Evanston and Skokie residents and $58 for nonresidents.
