Renehan Attends Pro Bono Breakfast Celebration

County Board member Julie Renehan attended the inaugural DuPage County Spirit of Pro Bono Breakfast celebrating the expansion of DuPage legal aid services with Public Interest Law Initiative’s 18th Circuit Court Pro Bono Committee, Prairie State Legal, Pro Bono Network and DuPage County Bar Association.

County Resource Site Gets Update
DuPage County has updated its DuPage CRIS portal! CRIS is a website that provides more than 1,000 resources that can assist residents in need. The site is now more user-friendly and easier to navigate. Check out the updated site!

County Board Members Greg Hart, Bob Larsen, and Brian Krajewski met with constituents in Oak Brook to discuss affordable housing options for adults with disabilities.

Earth Flag Presented to Westmont

Environmental Committee Chairwoman Liz Chaplin and County Board member Julie Renehan joined SCARCE and Westmont officials to present an Earth Flag to the village of Westmont on Sept. 26.


County Board Approves FY2020 Budget

On Nov. 26, the DuPage County Board approved its Fiscal Year 2020 budget with a balanced, $476.2 million spending plan.

The budget provides funding to replace the County’s 40-year-old property tax administration system, increase the Sheriff’s patrol capacity and replace 16 patrol vehicles. The FY2020 Budget also provides $1 million in grant-funded local social services to DuPage’s neediest residents through the Human Services Grant Fund. The Heroin Opioid Prevention and Education (HOPE) Taskforce receives $100,000 to continue the countywide fight against heroin and opioid addiction. The budget also includes an increased allocation for the DuPage County Clerk’s Election Division to conduct the 2020 primary and Presidential elections.

Renehan Attends Town Hall Meeting

County Board member Julie Renehan joined local community leaders in September at a local YWCA Willowbrook Action Team town hall meeting.


DuPage County Seeking Input on ADA Plan

DuPage County will begin holding public meetings for input on the County’s Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) Transition Plan for pedestrian access on County roadways.

The DuPage Division of Transportation (DuDOT) is circulating a draft version of the plan for public comment and will accept public comment through Jan. 21, 2020. The first public meeting to discuss the ADA Plan will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. Dec. 17 at the Addison Village Hall, 1 Friendship Plaza, Addison.
Residents will be able to talk with staff about the proposed plan and provide feedback.

Hart Celebrates Woodridge’s 60th Birthday

County Board member Greg Hart joined Mayor Gina Cunningham and village trustees for a ceremony and parade to celebrate the village of Woodridge’s 60th anniversary.

Renehan food pantry

Renehan Visits West Suburban Community Pantry

County Board member Julie Renehan visited with West Suburban Community Pantry volunteers and directors Laura Coyle and Lisa Spaeth to learn more about programs, including car seat safety, senior home delivery, and childhood nutrition education. The Woodridge location, along with 3 mobile units, supported 7,400 DuPage County residents last year, providing fresh, quality food, baby items and birthday bags to residents experiencing need.
