 DuPage County Receives Three National Awards
County Board members joined other elected officials and staff in accepting three achievement awards from the National Association of Counties annual conference in July. DuPage County received awards for its First Offender Call Unified for Success (F.O.C.U.S.) drug treatment program, Stormwater Shared Services Program, and Stormwater Water Quality Flag Program.
 Noonan Oversees Launch of New Dispatch Program
Emergency Telephone System Board Chairman Sean Noonan joined first responders and telecommunicators from DuPage Public Safety Communications, Addison Consolidated Dispatch Center and the DuPage County Sheriff's Office for the County-wide launch of the unified Computer-Aided Dispatch reporting and records software launch. The CAD-RMS provides first responders and other justice professionals accurate, up-to-date information from the initiation of an incident through disposition of a case. The system encompasses records from 17 fire protection districts, 31 municipalities, the Sheriff’s Office, the State’s Attorney’s Office, the Circuit Clerk, Probation and the Forest Preserve District Police of DuPage County.

Health and Human Services Committee Chairman Pete DiCianni opened the sixth annual DuPage Adult Protective Services Conference in Naperville. The conference provided an important training and education opportunity for social workers and other professionals who work to prevent abuse and neglect among area seniors and disabled adults.
DuPage County Board member Liz Chaplin, Dawn DeSart, Mary Ozog and Julie Renehan attended the Interfaith Community for Detained Immigrants Solidarity Luncheon. Congresswomen Jan Schakowski was the keynote speaker.
County Board member Sean Noonan attends a meeting of DuPage County's Complete Count Committee. The Committee has met twice, hearing presentations from the U.S. Census Bureau and the DuPage Geographic Information Systems Division. The Committee will provide direction and advice to ensure an accurate 2020 Census count of DuPage County residents.
 DuPage Recycling Efforts
Did you know that DuPage County is home to one of four long-term household hazardous waste collection facilities in the state? Hazardous waste is abundant in households, from fire extinguishers to typical cleaners that fall into the “hard-to-dispose-of” category. For the safety of waste and recycling haulers and the environment, it is important to not place such items in the trash or recycling bin.
The Regional Household Hazardous Waste Facility is located at 156 Fort Hill Drive, Naperville. Any Illinois resident can utilize this facility to dispose of household hazardous waste; business waste cannot be accepted at the site.
The facility is open Saturdays and Sundays (excluding holidays) from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Find out what you can bring and other recycling information by visiting the County’s website: https://www.dupageco.org/Waste/.
Health and Human Services Committee Chairman Pete DiCianni and Committee Vice Chairwoman Julie Renehan helped kick off the 16th annual DuPage Care Center Foundation Golf Outing to support residents of the DuPage Care Center. Proceeds from the outing support programs that enhance the quality of life for residents of the Center.
County Board member and Bloomingdale Police Officer Sean Noonan joined fellow officers from the Bloomingdale Police Department in the Illinois Law Enforcement Torch Run for Special Olympics.
DuPage County’s Stormwater Management Committee Chairman Jim Zay gave a tour of stormwater facilities at Armstrong Park in Carol Stream and the Elmhurst Quarry to County Board members Liz Chaplin, Dawn DeSart, and Sheila Rutledge.
