2024 Contract A - Project Update 10/25/2024
Ambleside Road (Lance to Victoria)
Work on Ambleside is substantially complete. Miscellaneous punch list items and pavement striping will follow.
Marshall Drive (Algonquin to Dempster)
Work on Marshall is substantially complete. Miscellaneous punch list items and pavement striping will follow.
Berry Lane (Des Plaines River Rd to dead end)
The contractor plans to pave the final layer of asphalt pavement on Monday, October 28. Miscellaneous punch list items and pavement striping will follow. Work on Berry is scheduled to be substantially completed by the end of October.
Ashland Avenue (Lee to Cora)
This week, the contractor began the process of removing and replacing any concrete area scheduled for replacement. Next week, the contractor will complete the replacement of all concrete areas. Once this work is completed, they will schedule for pavement removal and replacement. Work on Ashland is scheduled to be substantially completed by the middle of November.
Chestnut Street (Howard to Prospect)
This week, the contractor began construction of the new water main on Chestnut. Work on Chestnut includes a new 8” water main and water services, as well as curb & gutter replacement (as necessary) and 6” asphalt pavement replacement. Sidewalk and driveway aprons will also be replaced as necessary. The completion date for Chestnut is mid-December, weather permitting. If poor weather does not allow completion this year, work will be suspended until Spring 2025.
Howard Avenue (Chestnut to Mannheim)
Work on Howard is scheduled to begin next week. Work on Howard includes a new 12” water main, as well as curb & gutter replacement (as necessary) and 6” asphalt pavement replacement. Sidewalk and driveway aprons will also be replaced as necessary. The completion date for Howard is mid-December, weather permitting. If poor weather does not allow completion this year, work will be suspended until Spring 2025.
