Touhy Avenue IL-72 Railroad Crossing Closure

Location – Touhy Avenue IL-72 at Union Pacific Railroad (UP) crossing located west of Mt. Prospect Road, in the City of Des Plaines, IL.

The Union Pacific Railroad (UP), is planning to repair the badly deteriorated at-grade railroad crossing on Touhy Avenue west of  Mt. Prospect Road in the City of Des Plaines, IL, Cook County.  Touhy Avenue will be fully closed to through traffic at the UP Railroad tracks.  The closure will begin on Tuesday, November 9, 2021 at 9:00 AM and conclude on or before Saturday November 13, 2021 at 5:00 PM (Weather Permitting). 

Please follow the posted vehicle detour route for Touhy Avenue. The Detour Route will be Elmhurst Road to Oakton Avenue to Mt. Prospect Road.
