Welcome to the Accessible Communities newsletter
The Chicago Metropolitan Agency for Planning (CMAP) has launched a new program to help communities in northeastern Illinois improve accessibility for their residents and visitors with disabilities.
We offer:
-
Trainings for communities, advocates, and allies on the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and its requirements
-
Toolbox of resources to help complete self-evaluations and transition plans, two requirements of the law
-
Technical assistance to our communities and guidance through the process
Our newsletter, Accessible Communities, will provide resources, updates, and information about improving accessibility and complying with the ADA.
We look forward to keeping you informed and invite you to connect, stay in touch, and join us to create a more inclusive region. Email us at accessibility@cmap.illinois.gov.
