CRAIGMONT WILKINS GULCH FIRE

Size: Estimated at 490 acres

Reported: 2:18 p.m. PT, 09/27/2022

Location: Approximately nine miles outside Grangeville in Wilkins Gulch, burning toward Rock Creek

Current Containment: 15%

Resources on Fire:

Total personnel = 56

Engines = 6

Helicopters = 1

Bulldozers = 1

Crews = 2 Modules

Today’s Plans: Working mainly on actively burning patches of timber in the canyon. Continue control and mop up work in burned-over areas.

Weather and Fire Behavior: Fire with four- to six-foot flame lengths in active burning timber patches, minimal in other areas. Temperatures in the mid-80’s with estimated RH 20%.

Restrictions or Road/Trail Closures: None

Remarks or Special Concerns: No evacuations. Rain is expected over the fire area tonight or tomorrow.
