 Bring Your Kids to Work Day at the DOI
We had a fantastic time hosting Bring Your Kids to Work Day! Our young visitors started the morning with a special department tour, collecting stickers in their very own “passports” as they explored each section and learned about the work we do. They were treated to a memorable Capitol tour led by Director Cameron, giving them a behind‑the‑scenes look at Idaho’s historic building.
The kids then joined the full department for our all‑employee meeting—bringing plenty of extra energy to the room—before everyone wrapped up the day together with a barbecue lunch. Thank you to all the staff who helped make the day fun, welcoming, and educational for our next generation of leaders!
Cause of Mountain Home Wildfire Determined
Investigators have identified the cause of the approximately 250-acre wildfire that struck Mountain Home on May 26. A team from the Idaho State Fire Marshal’s Office spent Wednesday examining the area east of Flyby Road, south of Airbase Road.

Wildfire Near I‑84 Determined to Be Arson
The Idaho State Fire Marshal’s Office has concluded that the wildfire reported on May 29 in a farm field along the westbound side of Interstate 84 near milepost 15 in rural Payette County was intentionally set. Anyone with information that may aid the investigation is encouraged to call the arson hotline at 1‑877‑75ARSON (27766).

The flier also outlines simple improvements—such as trimming tree limbs, securing spark‑prone equipment, and maintaining adequate clearance around structures—to help slow the spread of fire and improve firefighter access.
