Everyone ages 55 and older is invited to attend a free exercise program that will include stretching and toning. Registration is NOT required. This is a continuous program. For more information contact us at 515.981.9206.

Everyone age 55 and older are welcome! Come and socialize with the Parks and Recreation staff and enjoy a potluck style lunch. The main dish and water will be provided. Bring a side dish or dessert to share. Each event will have a different speaker. Speakers will be announced prior to the event.

Flashlight Easter Egg Hunt When the sun goes down, the fun begins. The Easter Egg hunt will start at 8:00 pm. Please meet at the Norwalk McAninch Sports Complex parking lot no earlier than 7:45 pm. You are required to bring your own flashlight (size limited to no larger than 2 "D" cell batteries.) An adult must accompany all children. There will be a limit of 20 eggs per child. They will be split up into age groups and Parks and Recreation staff will announce the release of each group.

Mommy & Me Dance The Park and Recreation Department will host Mothers and their child(ren) for an evening filled with dancing, fun, light snacks, dessert and photo opportunities. If mom is not available, an aunt, sister, grandmother or mother figure is always welcome. All ages are welcome!

Bike Safety Day Norwalk Parks and Recreation partners with Norwalk Police Department, Fire Department and many sponsors to put on this event. Participants will bring their bikes and get their bike inspected as well as a ride on a safety course. There will be a speaker talking about bike safety. After completing the course, the group will be led on a bike ride in the area surrounding the Norwalk Public Safety Building. Bike helmets will be worn during the ride, a helmet will be provided for those in need. Each registered child will have a chance to win a brand new bike. You must be present to win. Parent volunteers are welcome and are encouraged to ride along with their child if under the age of 7. T-shirts are given to participants that have registered. Refreshments are provided.

Early Morning Cardio & Toning Fitness This early morning exercise class combines cardio and toning. The focus is on maximizing your core strength, firming, and toning your body while increasing your heart rate. A variety of exercise equipment will be used. Bring a mat & water bottle.

Circuit/Bootcamp Fitness This program is designed as a cardio/strength training class. It is designed to increase metabolism, increase flexibility and strengthen muscles. You will discover how to change ordinary circuit workouts into extraordinary workouts. Equipment optional: Jump ropes, Medicine Balls, Bands, Hand weights, exercise balls. Bring a mat/towel and hand weights (optional)

Pollinator Program (Ages 2nd - 5th grade) Join Warren County Naturalist at Brownie Park to learn about our local pollinators. Discover why pollinators are an essential part of the ecosystem, the different ones you can find, and their adaptations. Take home a plant to begin attracting pollinators to your home!
