There will be a mixture of split shifts and limited onsite staff. The public is encouraged to visit the office for critical items and continue to use online options (www.norwalkparks.org) or phone calls (981-9206) for all other items. We will not be scheduling or accepting in office meetings or sales calls at this time.
What can I expect when I visit Parks and Recreation in the near future:
For the health of our customers and employees we will be following CDC recommendations while at work by practicing social distancing, good hand washing techniques, wearing face masks and disinfecting frequently touched objects and surfaces. We will ask customers to help keep us safe when they visit by also following CDC recommendations, and limiting the number of visitors in our office to a maximum of 2 people. We appreciate your understanding.
All park playground equipment, shelters and skate park are open. Attendees must follow our Park Facility Reopening Policy.
Park open spaces and trails CONTINUE to be open including Elizabeth Holland Park. CDC guidelines must be followed when using these public spaces.
The Norwalk Aquatic Center is closed for the season.
We are asking everyone to follow theCDC guidelines and Governor Kim Reynolds most recent emergency proclamation regarding staying at home, maintaining a physical distance of 6 feet, if you are sick or have symptoms stay home, wash your hands frequently, cough or sneeze into a tissue or the inside of your elbow and wear cloth face coverings.

McAninch Sports Complex baseball/softball fields 5 & 6 are CLOSED for the season. Maintenance repairs are complete and fresh sod has been laid. Any use at this time could damage the sod and cause delay in opening next season. Please stay off fields 5 & 6.
The gravel parking lot is now under construction as well! It will be CLOSED for further notice!
City of Norwalk McAninch Sports Complex East Parking Lot Improvements
Construction of the McAninch Sports Complex East Parking Lot Improvements will start the week of September 14, 2020. As part of the project, a new storm sewer will be constructed across Wright Road east of the McAninch Sports Complex Parking Lot entrance. Between September 23 - September 30, traffic will be limited to one lane on Wright Road for installation of new Concrete pavement over the storm sewer pipe. The Contractor will install all necessary traffic control signs for the street closure.

Everyone ages 55 and older is invited to attend a free exercise program that will include stretching and toning. We will meet at the Luana Savings Bank, located at 9321 Market Place Drive, Norwalk, Iowa. Registration is NOT required. This is a continuous program.
