~ Trick or Treat night in Norwalk will be Wednesday, October 30 from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm. Before you head out for a ghostly fun time in your neighborhood be sure to stop by the Public Safety Building to pick up your trick-or-treat bag, glow sticks, and treats. This event is for children Preschool to 5th grade.

~New to Norwalk Parks and Recreation we are collaborating with Courage League Sports to offer adaptive programming to Norwalk families. Courage League Sports is a non-profit adaptive sports and recreation program offering year round opportunities for children and adults who are not able to go full speed due to a physical, cognitive or emotional disability. By adapting the pace, equipment, or nature of an activity, Courage League can provide a safe and accessible environment where participants can go at their own speed. All programs will include super hero training, fitness, group games, music/movement, seasonal sports plus social skill development and lots of fun.

~ Get out your glue gun and imaginations for this program. Children in 3rd through 5th grades at Lakewood Elementary are invited to join. They meet once a month after school on early out Wednesdays to make special art and craft projects.
YEL Grandmasters of Chess - Registration: Now – October 23 Program Information: Friday, 3:20 pm to 4:20 pm, Oct 25, Nov 1, 8 (no class), 15, 22, 29 (no class), Dec 6, 13 Cost: $77.00 resident / $88.55 nonresident Location: Norwalk Public Safety Building training room -- Chess class follows four basic components: Teach It! Each class students are taught different chess concepts and coached to implement those concepts into their chess games. Puzzle It! Students are given chess puzzles (constructed by WIM Serafima Sokolovskaya) and work with coach guidance. Play It! Each class ends with students playing 20 -30 minutes of chess. Coaches often feature in-class tournaments during the session. Class fee includes Chesskids.com membership for the session (a $49 annual value). For students grades 3rd – 5th.
YEL Junior Robotics - Registration: Now – November 8 Program Information: Tuesday, 3:20 pm - 4:20 pm, Nov 12, 19, 26, Dec 3 Cost: $51.00 resident / $58.65 nonresident Location: Norwalk Public Safety Building training room -- 21st Century Robotics Enrichment using LEGO® bricks. Junior Robotics follows four basic components. Teach It! Each class students are taught the basic STEM engineering concepts behind each project. Build It! Students use LEGO® bricks to build different projects each session. Program It! Then they program the project to perform different actions using drag and drop icon based software. Play It! Finally they play with their project, modify it, create extensions and have fun working with it. For students grades 3rd - 5th.

~ Pick-up basketball games will be offered for adults. Please bring clean tennis shoes to wear for the games. This program is only for residents who live within the Norwalk School District.

~ Stop by the gym to develop your shooting skills or to pick up a game of basketball. Make sure you bring a clean pair of tennis shoes to play ball. This open gym is for students 7th to 12th grade and adults. Bring your own basketball due to the limited amount at the school.
Beginner Warrior Wrestling Club- Registration: October 7 - October 18 Program Information: Tuesdays November 5 - December 10 Tournament date: Saturday December 14 Cost: $47.00 resident / $ 54.05 non resident Location: Norwalk High School
~ This program is open to any student in Pre- K through 2nd grade. Beginner Warrior Wrestling Club is designed for beginner wrestlers with little or no experience. Throughout these practices the skills and techniques will align with the goals of developing a strong K - 12 wrestling program. This level is specifically designed to introduce your student athlete to the sport while maintaining a fun, positive learning environment. Volunteer coaches needed!

~ Stop by the library on Sunday evenings and enjoy a good time with Bingo and tasty treats. Bring munchies or snacks to share with all and we will provide the beverages. All ages are invited to participate. Bingo callers will be the Norwalk Lions Club members.

~ Everyone ages 55 and older is invited to attend a free exercise program that will include stretching and toning. We will meet at the Norwalk Christian Church, located at 701 Main Street. Registration is NOT required. This is a continuous program every Monday and Thursday from 10:00 am to 10:30 am.
