Infante Appointed as Dallas County Sheriff

At a special meeting held by the Dallas County Board of Supervisors today, Chief Deputy Adam Infante was appointed to the position of Sheriff of Dallas County.
In front of dozens of family, friends and colleagues, Sheriff Adam Infante was sworn in at the Dallas County Courthouse by Dallas County Attorney Chuck Sinnard. Sheriff Infante takes over the rein as Sheriff from retired Sheriff Chad Leonard who led the department for over 15 years.
Sheriff Infante’s resume includes a distinguished 22-year career committed to the Dallas County Sheriff’s Office and the residents of Dallas County. Prior to accepting the position of Sheriff Infante served as First Chief Deputy and commanded a patrol of 40 Deputies and several civilian staff.
Preceding his appointment of First Chief Deputy, his positions within the Sheriff’s Office included detective, patrol deputy and a special assignment to the MINE Drug Task Force. Three years of his service were dedicated to the nationally recognized Drug Enforcement Agency Task Force (DEA), where he assisted in several high-profile cases throughout the U.S. Infante is also a graduate the FBI National Academy’s 271st session, an elite program that admits less than 1% of all law enforcement officers.
Highly regarded in the law enforcement community, his years of service alongside Sheriff Leonard have reinforced his commitment and dedication to the citizens of this county.

A native of Iowa and graduate of Iowa State University, Sheriff Infante has served on several local boards, actively volunteers in the community and is a member of Hope Waukee Church. He also dedicates much of his time to coaching several of his children’s sports teams. He resides in Waukee with his two children and wife Sarah who is a successful small business owner and community volunteer. In his spare time, Sheriff Infante enjoys exercise, mountain bike riding, family travel, and working on his Jeep.
