On July 14, 2025, the Iowa Administrative Rules Review Committee (ARRC) voted to administratively delay the Board of Pharmacy's adopted rulemaking for 70 days. That adopted rulemaking rescinded 657 Iowa Administrative Code and created new 481 Iowa Administrative Code chapters 550 through 557.
Until ARRC has approved the new rulemaking of 481 Iowa Administrative Code chapters 550 through 557, licensees of the Board of Pharmacy should operate under the current rules found in 657 Iowa Administrative Code.
The ARRC will request another review of the rulemaking at its next regularly scheduled meeting on Aug. 11, 2025, at 10 a.m.
Further communication will be provided once an implementation date of 481 Iowa Administrative Code chapters 550 through 557 is approved by ARRC.
ARRC is a bipartisan, bicameral legislative committee tasked with reviewing agency rulemaking.
