Iowa LCAN Bulletin: December 2023

Iowa LCAN Bulletin

LCAN Hampton Fair

As 2023 comes to a close, we want to extend our warmest holiday wishes to the Iowa LCAN community. This year has had its share of challenges (looking at you, FAFSA!), but we also want to celebrate the fantastic work that’s taking place across our state to support students and families.

One highlight of many from this past year has been seeing communities maintain initiatives that grew out of LCANs. For example, Anne and Megan traveled to Hampton in October for the third annual college and career fair at the Hampton-Dumont Community School District. The local LCAN initially spearheaded the event, and it continues to flourish and expand to other districts in the region.

We know that other communities also see the value of the initiatives - and the cross-sector collaboration behind them - that emerge in LCAN. Collective impact is long-term work; seeing these efforts come to fruition is fantastic.

We want to voice our appreciation for leadership team members, work groups, and everyone involved in our statewide LCAN network. Have a safe and happy holiday season!
