COVID Provisions for Continuing Education Expire December 31, 2021

You are receiving this email as an Iowa Professional Engineer and/or Professional Land Surveyor who is due to renew in 2022. The special continuing education provisions currently in place will expire at the end of 2021.

  • Due to COVID, in 2020 the Board approved a reduction in the continuing education hours required to renew, including 100% of continuing education could be online self-study. For more details: https://plb.iowa.gov/board/engineers-land-surveyors
  • The special provision will expire on December 31, 2021. That means the continuing education requirements for your 2022 renewal will revert back to the pre-COVID requirements. The minimum hours to renew will be 30 for single licensees with a 10-hour limit on self-study. For dual licensees, it will be 40 hours to renew, 20 hours in each profession with a 10-hour total limit on self-study.
