Is mentoring your peers something you excel at? A childcare center or home provider currently participating in CACFP can apply to receive an Ambassador Stipend ($300 for centers or $150 for home providers) by mentoring a center or home provider who does not participate in CACFP. By assisting a peer (via phone, email, FaceTime) with applying to participate in the food program, you can apply for the Ambassador Stipend by September 30, 2020. The goal is to increase CACFP participation across Iowa, with your help.

CACFP Success Stories
- Home provider Tanya Smith says, "I am going to try to incorporate legumes into our weekly meals by adding them to taco meat or spaghetti sauce. Try hummus again. Let kids smash beans themselves and put on a tortilla shell."
- Darbi DeVault says, "I love the recipe and cookbook section of the ChooseMyPlate website! Lots of good ideas, and I like that they have a sample menu as well to reference. I also like that they have an app, and will be downloading so I can easily reference!"

CACFP sites can provide more than one day’s worth of meals to eligible children via a single meal pick-up or delivery. This publication provides considerations, tips, best practices, and sample menus for CACFP operators who wish to distribute multiple meals at one time.
